Neighborhood Watch
The Neighborhood Watch Committee meets regularly. We have had great participation and have our neighborhood “watcher” in place. We still need all who are willing to join us in keeping our area safe. If you are interested in joining, please contact Jackie Heyda at 719-487-8485 or jhmay1@yahoo.com, or Deb Fiala at 719-488-2589 or Deb.Fiala@comcast.net.
There have been a rash of car burglaries in Northern El Paso County. Please keep you eyes and ears open for unusual activity in our neighborhood.

Tips to Keep Your Property SAFE while You’re Away…
- Have exterior lights on. You can get lights that are on a timer to turn on when it gets dark, OR you can get exterior lights that come on as soon as it gets dark out and shut off on when the sun comes up.
- Appear to be at home! Leave a light on inside the home.
- Set alarm system alerts that trigger when people come onto your property.
- Have trusted neighbors collect and secure packages so they don’t sit on your porch.
- When you travel, request a sheriff’s deputy drive by your home while you are away by completing a Vacation Check Request Form on the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office website.
- If your vehicle is kept outside, remove the garage door opener from your vehicle. Visible garage door openers can encourage auto break-ins that lead to home break-ins through a garage door that’s been opened remotely.
- Lastly, and the easiest of all, LOCK ALL OF YOUR DOORS!
